About

Martin Baister (BDes, Duncan Jordanstone College of Art & Design)

I graduated from Duncan Jordanstone College of Art & Design with a degree in Graphic Design. After a few years of pursuing different areas of art, I found my passion for working with my hands. Presenting my own work in handmade frames quickly became something of an obsession. I soon progressed to framing the work of others and realised this was a form of artistic expression and collaboration in its own right.

In 2018 I made the decision to make framing my main focus and founded Martin Baister Framing. Since then I have worked on a huge variety of projects encompassing everything from original artwork to children’s drawings and everything in between. I especially enjoy the challenge of unusual items which require a unique solution.

I give the same care and attention to everything. Whether or not I am using an affordable pre-made frame moulding or creating a hand-crafted, hand-painted, bespoke frame from scratch, every project is just as important to me.
